Welcome to Foreign Pixel, a travel photography website where I share my adventures from interesting places around the world. It’s mostly about the photography but I like to share a few stories and have a laugh along the way. I’m always trying to improve but for me photography is about having fun, experimenting, learning new things and just getting out there and taking photos.
My name is Rene Smith and I’m a kiwi who loves to travel the world and experience all the amazing stuff out there. I love cities but I love the outdoors even more so a lot of my photography takes place while hiking or exploring other interesting landscapes. Outside of travel and photography I’m also involved in education. I worked for a number of years at a science center in New Zealand, before teaching English in Japan and creating a website called Science Kids which now takes up quite a bit of my time.
Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, I love hearing from people whether you’re commenting on a photo, sharing your own experiences, telling me a great place to visit or anything else.
I’ll leave you with an inspirational quote from Jack Handey, one of my favourite writers:
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
